We all know at Abbey Telecom that in order for us to be competitive we have to go that “extra mile”. Indeed that is why we flourish, as we ensure that we are small enough to be flexible. That is not to say that we are a “one man band”. We have formal procedures and departments or individuals dedicated to the multi-faceted aspects of a phone system installation together with even more basic transactions. However where you suggest a more appropriate process we will endeavour to be flexible.
I was encouraged to locate in Blackburn by The Blackburn and District Enterprise Trust. They helped me to refine my business plan and to secure funding through Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Grant & Loan Guarantee Scheme and The DTI’s Regional Selective Assistance Grant. Abbey Telecom continued to receive advise from The Blackburn and District Enterprise Trust and I am proud to have gone onto be the Trust’s Chairman.
It has always been our mission “to become the first choice telephony supplier within our target geographical location”. To an extent we have begun to achieve this which is corroborated by prestigious phone system orders from such as; Cavalier Carpets – Blackburn, Ben Shaws Soft Drinks – Huddersfield, Blackburn Magistrates Courts and numerous sites from the six councils that we supply. However we are not resting on our laurels!
We know that there are around fifty thousand businesses who are target market to us within the North West and we are forever seeking more inventive ways of bringing Abbey Telecom to the forefront of your mind when you consider your organisation’s communications. Indeed we haven’t made a telesales call since 1992. We play on the North West’s village nature and ensure that we take a lifelong customer approach, which is infectious. Finally to, our most important ingredient, our team. We have a family firm type feel and indeed we all have families. Our longest serving member has been with Abbey Telecom for since 1994. We have engineers who have been with us since 1998. Our Installations Manager joined us in 1995. My wife, Alison Raynor, is one of our four telephone system trainers. Despite our growth I have still managed to hold onto the North West phones systems sales personally, which I love. I would like to think that all of our team enjoys their contribution to our customers’ harmonious solutions. But you will have to try us to find out!
