Increase the power from your machines
Tony's souped-up Harley is now fastest in the UK Report by Richard Williams Tuner flown in to give bike extra bite Staff at Wolverhampton's Harley Davidson showroom really got their motors running after flying in an expert from America to soup up a special edition mean machine - making it the fastest in the country. Tuner Mark Lowe was jetted in from California by bosses of the motorbike showroom in Chapel Ash to go to work on a unique model. Speed When Mark's job is complete he will have created the fastest road-going Harley Davidson in the UK, complete with a 1700cc engine - bigger than many cars - and a 145 mph top speed. The special edition Screaming Eagle Electroglide model has been tuned to a massive 125 brake horse power and its delighted owner Tony Raynor will be driving it back to his home in Blackpool today. Andy Kelly, principal dealer at the Tettenhall Road showroom, said Tony had been eagerly looking forward to picking up his new pride and joy. He's understandably very excited,he smiled. Tony has owned Harleys in the past but this one really is a bit special and he said he can't wait to get on it. Mr Kelly said Mark, who has come over from specialist firm BC Gerolamy, has welded all the bike's cylinder heads to squeeze that extra power surge from the machine. He has been helped by lan Murphy, from Eastfield in Wolverhampton, who recently completed a course at the Harley Davidson university in Milkwaukee, USA. Owning such a rare roadster doesnÕt come cheap though - with the bike's price tag a cool £25,000. Andy added: It's really exciting to be involved in a project like this. If you are as passionate about Harley Davidsons as we are, then its nice to see somebody as enthusiastic as Tony is.
