PRAISE FOR CHAMBER OF TRADE CAMARADERIE BUSINESS leaders from across Lancashire gathered for one the largest events on their calendar last night. The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce held its annual presidents dinner, featuring .guest speaker, businessman and former TV presenter Anthony H Wilson. Mr Wilson was joined by Steve Womach, a comedian and musician, who entertained the diners at Ewood Park, Blackburn. And master of ceremonies Alistair Macdonald was former television presenter and now communications skills coach. The audience, numbering in their hundreds, also enjoyed a three-course dinner celebrating Pennine Lancashire and its traditional fare, specially designed by Nigel Haworth of Northcote Manor. Outgoing chamber president Tony Raynor, who will be replaced after two years at the helm by businesswoman Helen Colley, founder of Farmhouse Fare, Clitheroe, praised the chamber for its work. He said: There is a kind of cameraderie associated with chamber membership. Ive met many good people through my membership and I think this has great value. People buy off people like themselves. He added: Companies and organisations value chamber membership.
