Abbey makes key gain CHAMBER Member, Blackburn-based Abbey Telecom, has today announced the acquisition of leading North West Internet developer copyc@t.web. The acquisition, which follows several months of negotiations, will mean that Abbey will be able to offer a full communications service of its clients including telecoms, Internet development and web hosting through a new business division, Abbey iNet. Tony Raynor, managing director of Abbey Telecom said: There has always been a close relationship between telecoms and the internet and we are often being asked if we can advise and support business Internet strategies. We originally met copyc@t.web when they designed our own web site, www.abbeytelecom.co.uk , and helped us to reach the number one spot in search engine placement through search engine optimisation. Since then, we have worked together on a number of projects and have won several deals through our joint no-nonsense approach, offering clients a communications strategy that really works. Our business plans for the next year are very ambitious and we hope to double In turnover as well as increase our head count. Craig will maintain control of the Abbey iNet division as part of the board. As part of the acquisition, the Abbey iNet division will move into the current Abbey Telecom, Blackburn town centre offices. Abbey Telecom operate throughout the UK.
